Now that I have finished Inspiration for the Soul – Courage for the Heart I can say that this poetry book has blown me away and inspired me more than I thought a poetry book could and so I of course already recommend it! From the start, Nick Olsen managed to captivate me and compel me to turn the pages with haste thanks to the sensational poems laced throughout. Olsen too is clearly a passionate writer who is dedicated to helping his readers and bettering people’s lives through his poetry, and this will be evident to the reader from beginning to end! Nick Olsen is a newly discovered poet of mine, but I wish I had discovered his work sooner because never before have I been so transfixed by poems. Inspirational and positive collection of poetry! This book includes a collection of poetry that provides the reader an opportunity to reflect on life’s experiences. In general, I found the poems to be inspirational, relatable, and thought-provoking. The first time I read the book, I read nearly all of the poems, but over time, I tend to look over a couple each read, and really think through how those specific poems apply to my life and affect me. The poems are thoughtful and provide a good opportunity for introspection. Reading poetry in general and the ones in this book remind me of the quote, “What is reading but silent conversation.” The book is also well organized. On the opposite page of each poem there is an area designated for the reader to reflect on their thoughts/emotions that are roused from the poetry. I really like this idea and it makes an inspirational book of poetry even more functional.
